Noida-Based Defence Startup Raphe mPhibr Raises $100 Million, Eyes Aerospace Domination

🚀 India’s defence-tech ecosystem just hit a new milestone.

Raphe mPhibr, a Noida-based startup specialising in unmanned aerial systems (UAVs), has raised $100 million in funding led by General Catalyst, marking the largest private capital raise in India’s aerospace manufacturing sector to date.

This round also saw participation from Think Investments, Amal Parikh, and several family offices — taking the total capital raised by the startup to $145 million.

🔧 End-to-End Innovation in Defence

Founded nearly a decade ago by brothers Vivek Mishra (CEO) and Vikash Mishra (Chairman), Raphe mPhibr has emerged as one of the most promising defence-tech startups in India.

The company has built a fully integrated aerospace campus housing in-house teams across aerodynamics, materials science, thermodynamics, and more — allowing them to maintain end-to-end control over R&D and manufacturing.

Their key products include:

  • mR10: Swarm drone platform
  • mR20: High-altitude logistics drone
  • Bharat: Man-portable surveillance drone
  • X8: Maritime patrol system

Several of these are already being used by Indian defence forces, with others nearing final validation.

🌍 Why It Matters

The timing of this raise is crucial—as drone tech continues to play a key role in global military operations. Even recent India-Pakistan tensions saw drone warfare escalate on both sides.

This funding also aligns with India’s strategic push to expand its private aerospace sector, supported by initiatives like iDEX (Innovations for Defence Excellence) and tech transfers from ISRO/DRDO to startups.
